Glutathione Injections

Treatment, Prevention, and Optimization

While keeping a balance of needed nutrients, vitamins and minerals is essential for our health, there are some compounds that are so vital it’s hard to adequately cover all of their effects. Glutathione is one of them. Glutathione, a powerful antioxidant, is made up of three amino acids, cysteine, glutamate, and glycine, all of which are vital for our body to function properly.

Glutathione is essential in building and repairing cells, making other nutrients and in the absorption and use of proteins, and for our immune system. Glutathione injections from the medical professionals at MagnifaSkin Medspa ensure your body will have enough of this essential micronutrient.

The Many Benefits of Glutathione

Treatment

b6 heart

Cholesterol

Experiments on rats have shown a significant correlation between low Glutathione and high levels of LDL, or bad cholesterol.

glutathione toilet

Ulcerative Colitis

Research has shown that individuals with Ulcerative Colities and other forms of IBD have low levels of antioxidants. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant.

glutathione blood sugar

Diabetes

The constant high blood sugar levels that lead to and are caused by diabetes cause a great deal of oxidative stress on the cells of the body. Glutathione can help to protect against this damage.

glutathione diabetes

Insulin Sensitivity

A 2018 study showed a link between low glutathione levels and individuals with low insulin sensitivity.

glutathione autism

Autism

Glutathione supplementation has been shown to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in autistic individuals, leading to improved sensory integration.

glutathione arthritis

Arthritis

Inflammation of tissues results from the oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant, and may help some people who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.

Prevention

glutathione liver

Liver Disease

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a major cause of many other conditions. Due to its cellular repair abilities, Glutathione can help protect your liver against cellular breakdown.

b complex brain and nervous system

Artherosclerosis

Plaque builds up in our arteries at places where the cells are damaged, allowing fats and other materials to get under the top layer of the cell wall. By keeping the cells healthy, we can reduce the number of sites where this can happen.

b6 brain health

Alzheimer's

While Alzheimer's and its causes are not fully understood, we do know that Alzheimer's destroys brain cells. Cobalamin helps to keep the cells healthy and resilient. This can slow or prevent the onset of Alzheimer's.

b6 heart

Heart Disease

Because Glutathione helps to build and repair cells, it can protect the arteries leading to our heart, lowering the risk of heart attacks.

b6 cancer

Cancer

While the exact cause of many cancers is unknown, it starts when cells malfunction at a genetic level. Glutathione helps to keep cells healthy, and may therefore reduce the risk of cancer.

b6 eye health

Cataracts & Glaucoma

Glutathione levels within the lens of the eye decline with age. Due to its antioxidant and healing properties, numerous studies link glutathione with the prevention of cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease and diabetic blindness.

b complex b7

Parkinson's

Those suffering from Parkinson's have reduced levels of glutathione in their brain. Supplementing glutathione may help to protect against the onset of Parkinson's.

b6 anemia

Anemia

Some studies have shown a link between low glutathione levels and anemia.

glutathione mercury

Mercury Poisoning

Glutathione prevents mercury from binding to proteins and causing damage to both enzymes and tissues. It also provides further protection as a powerful antioxidant.

Optimization

glutathione fat metabolism

Fat Metabolism

A 2018 study showed a strong correlation between obesity and low Glutathione (GSH) levels and that those with high GSH levels had an easier time losing weight.

glutathione slow aging

Slowing Aging

Over time, all the cells in our body age and have to be replaced. Oxidative stress increases the frequency at which this happens. Extending the life of cells may extend our life as well.

b complex b9

DNA

Our body needs to constantly replicate its own DNA when making new cells. Optimal glutathione levels facilitate this process by reducing the oxidative stress that can cause DNA damage.

b6 brain health

Memory

Numerous studies have shown a correlation between optimal glutathione levels and improved memory, especially in older adults.

glutathione energy

Increased Energy

Oxidative stress negatively affects all cellular functions, including the production of energy by the mitochondria. Reducing oxidative stress means our cells simply work better. This may result in a noticeable increase in energy in some individuals.

glutathione sperm

Male Fertility

Glutathione increases both semen production and sperm motility.

b complex b7

Immune System

Glutathione contains high levels of the protein cysteine, which is responsible for the health and resiliency of our immune system.

glutathione liver

Liver Health

Our liver is vital for cleaning toxins from our blood. Glutathione has been shown to improve liver function by optimizing protein, enzyme and bilirubin levels in our blood.

Wow. That is quite a list. Clearly a shortage of glutathione in our body can lead to a long list of health problems. Glutathione doesn’t occur in the foods we eat. It’s made by our body from the amino acid building blocks. This means that it can easily become depleted or we can have a shortage as a result of poor diet, constant stress or illness. Glutathione injections, on the other hand, make this vital amino acid compound immediately available, without the need for our body to produce it.

Free radicals are responsible for many damaging effects in the body, and can lead to greater susceptibility to diabetes, cancer and arthritis. In addition, the oxidative stress on our cells that occurs from having high levels of free radicals may also cause us to age faster. Rapid aging doesn’t just affect our appearance, but also our health. It can lead to developing many of the chronic conditions and diseases associated with old age many years sooner than we otherwise would have.

Slow your aging clock and counter free radicals with Glutathione injections from MagnifaSkin Medspa in Wilmington, DE.

Liver Health

Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

glutathione fatty liver disease
  • glutathione liver

This is a big one! You may think you’re not at risk for fatty liver disease because it has been commonly associated with high alcohol consumption. It is true that alcoholism leads to fatty liver disease, which cascades into a host of health issues including but not limited to heart disease, high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. What you probably don’t know is that a diet high in processed foods and sugars will do exactly the same thing. Sugar is as toxic to our liver as alcohol, and unfortunately our industrialized diet is very high in added and hidden sugars. In addition, we tend to eat a diet high in processed grains, which our body turns into sugar very quickly. It’s estimated that the average American is consuming three to four times the safe daily limit of sugar. So, even if you keep alcohol consumption to a minimum you are likely still at high risk for fatty liver disease.

In fact, the statistics show that if you are overweight or obese you have an 80% chance that you have or are developing fatty liver disease, but even if you are of ‘normal weight’, you still have a 40% chance that you are suffering from this condition.

Because glutathione is a powerful antioxidant, it helps to protect our liver cells from damage and death. Glutathione injections have been proven to raise levels of essential proteins and enzymes in the liver. In addition they help maintain healthy levels of bilirubin in the blood, a sign of proper liver function.

Insulin Resistance

Prevent and Treat Diabetes

  • glutathione diabetes

Even if you are not diabetic or pre-diabetic, if you are eating a diet high in processed foods and sugars (and that’s most of us, whether we like to admit it or not) you are at risk for developing insulin resistance. This will eventually lead to diabetes.

While we’re not completely sure of the exact biological mechanisms that lead to insulin resistance, we do know that it develops as a result of our cells being constantly bombarded with insulin in an effort to reduce our blood sugar levels. Our body has to do this, has high blood sugar levels are toxic.

When we develop insulin resistance we become more susceptible to gaining weight. This is because insulin is the fat-storage hormone so constantly high levels mean our body is getting a steady signal to store any excess calories as fat.

Studies have shown that low glutathione levels were associated with less fat burning and a greater tendency to gain weight. Older individuals were especially likely to show this correlation.

Regular glutathione injections have been shown to reduce insulin resistance, improving fat burning and reducing susceptibility to diabetes.

Peripheral artery disease is earmarked by pain in the extremities, especially the legs, when walking beyond a certain distance. For extreme cases, any walking can be painful. PAD is caused by plaque buildup in the arteries. A study where patients were given regular glutathione injections just two times daily for five days showed a measurable improvement in mobility and a decrease in pain when walking.

Arthritis, Celiac Disease & Lupus

Autoimmune Diseases

Celiac disease and lupus, along with other autoimmune diseases cause inflammation in the body, as does arthritis. This inflammation is at least in part the result of oxidative stress, which can be effectively alleviated with glutathione supplementation.
